Review: Update as of current _ Following on from the owner’s reply below, the case was not resolved in his favour, the matter was found to be outside of the jurisdiction of the body that the complaint was laid before and both parties were advised of this formally with proof of correspondence as such. Paul quoted and did repairs that did not remedy the problem. The matter was thankfully resolved by a competent contractor with many years of experience and professional care. The house has remained damp and leak free since the intervention of the competent contractor . I have not used The Repairman team since their blunder and will not do so ever. I will also recommend that a search be done for other similar experiences of dissatisfied customers of The Repairman under “Hello Peter’ and other social media platforms before consideration can be given to employing this company. My original review reads as follows: Paul and his team were called into a property I own in Durban which is being rented out to address dampness and rain water coming into the bedroom. Unfortunately his recommended remedial work that he carried out, did not remedy the problem. He failed to identify that windows and doors in that room was incorrectly fitted resulting in the dampness. I called in damp specialists who then correctly identified and fixed the problem for me. When asked for a refund from Paul, he refused claiming he cannot be held liable for incorrect doors and windows installations and did not acknowledge that the work he carried out for me, served no purpose in addressing the root cause. Please stay away from this company. They are not specialists, handyman at best and from the feedback of my tenant, I gather that other companies visiting the unit to do work (including the damp specialists that were called in to correctly address the fault) worked much neater than The Repairman. I spent R7485 on The Repairman in vain. Paul is quite short sited in not realising that by perhaps even considering and effecting a small refund would have secured him future handyman work at the unit over the period that I hold it as investment property. Never again, and please don’t waste your time and hard earned money.
